Situation in Russia from an Anarchist Perspective
The presentation about economic and sociopolitical situation in Russia will be held by two anarchists from Irkutsk (Siberia) who are part of anarchist, animal rights and social initiatives. They are also defendants in the recent case of ‘wounding religious feelings’ which is a criminal offence in Russia.
Since Russia is very wide and boundless, they will try to tell about the situation in the country in general, but also accentuate the talk on the happenings in its Siberian part.
You will learn about the post-Soviet heritage, the economic crisis in Russia, relationship between the political regime and the opposition, the anarchist movement and repressions of the state.
